Production Experience

Imogen has worked in Production for 20 years, starting out as an intern and assistant for a variety of independent London-based production companies including Dan Films, Wildgaze Films, Pathé, Adventure Pictures, and more. After approximately three years in-house, she turned her attention to the production office as a runner on independent films across the UK. Moving up the ladder Imogen now works as a Line Producer and Production Manager across a range of HETV budget scales with credits including The Witcher, Top Boy, Suspect, Behind Her Eyes and Horrible Histories. She is now based in West Yorkshire and runs training along-side her freelance production work.

The Production Training Company

The training company was formed by Imogen in response to the growing demand for production office training resources. The growth in the HETV industry in the UK along with the trend of rapid promotion across all departments caused by the demand for crew caused many production crew to feel underqualified or undertrained for the more senior positions they held.

The courses provided by The Production Training Company are rooted in skills based learning. Coupled with demonstrations of practical production tasks, all training modules provide the context and nuances that go into performing each task in real-world filming environments. Production Lab was the first iteration of the training in 2019 and consisted of a single day’s training covering the most common skills that arise on any given shoot including Production Office Set-up, Filing, Insurance, Distribution, Cast Bookings, Crew Bookings, Progress Reports and Wrap, amongst others. This course was run for ScreenSkills 7 times before it evolved into a five-day Production Coordinator course and five-day Production Secretary course which has now reached over 1,000 participants.

In the six years since Imogen started training, she has also written and delivered training for The Production Guild of Great Britain, BECTU Vision, Netflix, NI Screen, Keshet TV, BBC, Mammoth Screen, Sister, Expectation TV, Drama Republic and Screen Yorkshire. Courses now include Production Manager training, Mentorships, Module based learning, a selection of Final Draft Courses, and Production Team Consultancy.
